Worship, School Supplies, Thursday Night Koinonia

Good morning, everyone! Thank you for being part of our church’s mission of “…making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.” Here is some of what’s going on at Byers Avenue UMC…

Check out our weekly recorded Worship Services, Midweek Meditations, and other information at

Each Sunday morning, we offer two Adult Discipleship Studies from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The Challengers meet in their classroom downstairs, while our Adult Discipleship Class meets in the Chapel outside the Worship Center. Remember, too, that we have children’s programming available during this time in our Kids’ Crossing area downstairs. Join us for either of our Adult Discipleship Classes or for our Children’s programming and stick around for Worship!

This Sunday, August 8th in Worship, we’ll begin a new message series called “Parables of Jesus”. This week, we’ll be looking at a story Jesus told about some workers in a vineyard. Worship is at 10:45 a.m. Children’s Church will be offered downstairs during our entire service for those who wish to take part.

We are currently collecting school supplies for Stapleton Elementary. We are asking for donations of 24-count crayons, 12-count colored pencils, large pink erasers, glue sticks, 5-inch blunt or pointed scissors, and #2 yellow pencils. Please consider picking up a few extra supplies this year and bringing them to church. Most importantly, remember to pray over these supplies that will be placed in the hands of our children!

Thursday Night Koinonia will be offered at Byers this Fall! Beginning Thursday, September 9th and running through Thursday, October 14th, we’ll be hosting a 6-week Bible study called “The Comeback”. The night begins with a catered family meal (free will donations accepted) followed by a video, large group talk, and break-out group discussion. There will be programming for the kids as well. This discipleship and outreach event is open to everyone, but we only have room for about seventy-five people this session. Register by responding in the comments to our Facebook invitation or by contacting me at

That’s all for now. Keep loving God and one another! And, as always, stay on mission! Have a blessed day!
