Worship, Koinonia, Save the Date, Tech Upgrades, and More!

Good afternoon, everyone! Thank you for being part of our church’s mission of “…making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.” Here is some of what’s going on at Byers Avenue UMC…

Every Sunday morning, we offer two Adult Discipleship Studies from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The Challengers meet in their classroom downstairs, while our Adult Discipleship Class meets in the Chapel outside the Worship Center. Remember, too, that we have Children’s Programming available during this time in our Kids’ Crossing area downstairs. Join us for either of our Adult Discipleship Classes or for our Children’s programming and stick around for Worship!

This Sunday, March 13th in Worship, we’ll continue our current message series called “A-Z: Our Identity in Christ”. This week, “W” is for “Worshipper of Jesus”, “X” is for “X-Enemy of God”, “Y” is for “Yoked with Christ”, and “Z” is for “Zealous for Good Works”. Worship is at 10:45 a.m. Children’s Church will also be offered in the Children’s Church classroom downstairs during the entire Worship Service.

Our spring semester of Thursday Night Koinonia has begun, but it’s not too late to join. We meet each Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. for seven consecutive weeks. We begin each night with a free catered meal followed by the video series “H2O” by Kyle Idleman and discussion. Kids’ Programming is also available at Thursday Night Koinonia!

Save the date and plan to attend our Holy Week Worship Services. Maundy Thursday Worship will be on April 14th beginning at 6:30 p.m. This is a time to reflect on the suffering of Jesus including his death for our sins. Then, we’ll celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday, April 17th. We’ll start the day with a Family Breakfast and Kids’ Easter Egg Hunt followed by Worship at 10:45 a.m.

Finally, I want to inform everyone of a few technology updates about to take place in our Worship Center. We will soon be replacing the projection screens on both sides of the stage area in the front of the Worship Center and the projection screen in the back of the Worship Center with large TV screens. The TVs will provide greater clarity and readability in comparison to our current set-up, will provide a cleaner, more streamlined look to our Worship Center aesthetics, and save the church the expense of costly projector bulbs. The TVs will also be compatible with our current technology set-up. If you have questions about this upgrade in technology, please talk with me, and I will fill you in on the specific details.

That’s all for now. Keep loving God and one another! And, as always, stay on mission! Have a blessed day!
